Phineas Flynn

Phineas Flynn is one of the main protagonists in The Bitterness Trilogy.

Early LifeEdit

Phineas was born in the 90's, somewhere during summer. His parents are Phelan and Linda Flynn. (Not much is known about Phelan in the present, but it is known that he was murdered by Heinz.)

After Phelan died, Linda married another man named Lawrence. Phineas and Candace (his older sister) gained a step-father, a step-brother and a step-sister because of this.

Present LifeEdit

Phineas is one of the agents of The Resistance. His parents went missing after Heinz took over, and still haven't been found. He goes on a lot of missions with Ferb.

Phineas is generally nice, though he has a bit of a temper at times. He loves and will do anything to protect his siblings and friends, but sometimes he puts that in front of things he shouldn't.

Ferb FletcherEdit

"I could never forget you." --Phineas

Phineas and Ferb are step-brothers, and each other's best friend. They have a very strong bond between each other, and will protect each other at all costs.

In The Bitterness of Phineas FlynnEdit

When Ferb is murdered, Phineas is so broken that he vows revenge on the criminal. Later, Ferb's ghost visits him and warns him that continuing down the evil path will eventually destroy him. The two share a hug as well (which is odd due to Ferb being a ghost). Phineas heeds Ferb's warning, and lets go of his hate. At the end, he misses Ferb so much that he builds a machine that resurrects Ferb, and they are tearfully reunited.

In The Bitterness of Candace FlynnEdit

After they discover that Candace has turned against them, Phineas begins to cry and Ferb comforts him. Later, Ferb rescues Phineas after a failed mission to revert Candace to the good side. Sometime after that, Phineas and Ferb both have visions in which the late Phelan tells them that Phineas can and must save Candace from herself. Ferb is worried that Phineas will get hurt, but he has no choice but to let him go.

In The Bitterness of the EmpireEdit

When Phineas decides to go and see what Heinz is up to, Ferb doesn't want him to, but he lets him.

Later, when Irving shows up, Ferb and Phineas protect each other from him.

Not too long after that, the city of Jeffville is completely destroyed by Heinz, killing many people. As The Resistance mourns, Ferb hugs his brother and lets him cry on his shoulder.

Soon, Phineas is revealed to be blaming himself for the destruction, and tries to kill himself twice. The first time, he fails. The second time, Ferb stops him and comforts him.

When they return to the Hideout, Vanessa shows up. That same night, she uses a voice simulator that makes Phineas think he is hearing his deceased father. Ferb suspects it's a trap, but Phineas won't listen--and ends up getting captured by Heinz.

Soon, Ferb saves him, but they get caught by Heinz, who wants to fight The Resistance. Just before the fight begins, Phineas says he will go and fight Irving--alone. Ferb is concerned about his safety but lets him go.

Later, Ferb finds him badly wounded and gets help.

At the end, Ferb visits him in the Emergency Aid and even wishes him a happy birthday (also revealing that they are now 13 years old).

Jessica FletcherEdit

Jessica, or "Jessie", is Phineas's step-sister. Not much is known about their relationship at this time, though they seem to care about one another.

In The Bitterness of Phineas FlynnEdit

Phineas asks Jessie to keep his scheme a secret. She reluctantly agrees. But she no longer hides the secret once Phineas pretty much reveals it himself!

Later in the story, Phineas reveals that he is returning to the good side, and Jessie is very happy and relieved.

In The Bitterness of the EmpireEdit

Jessie wishes Phineas a happy birthday at the end.

Candace FlynnEdit

Phineas and Candace are brother and sister.

In The Bitterness of Candace FlynnEdit

When Phineas and Ferb discovered that Candace had become evil, Phineas was devastated.

Later, they go on a mission to revert Candace to the good side. Phineas begins talking to her. Unfortunately, she doesn't listen and knocks Phineas unconscious instead.

Later, Phineas has a vision in which his deceased biological father tells him that only he can save his sister. Phineas then goes and talks to Candace again. Once again, Candace refuses, and Heinz suddenly comes out and attacks Phineas, eventually attempting to strangle him to death. As Candace watches Phineas's certain doom, her heart breaks and she kicks Heinz in the face and runs off with an unconscious Phineas.

Phin wakes up 2

Phineas wakes up in his sister's arms.

She cradles him in her arms until he wakes up. He is very weak, of course, so they stay there for a while, hugging and talking to each other.

If not for Phineas's bravery and love for his sister, Candace would never have turned back to the good side.

In The Bitterness of the EmpireEdit

Candace senses that Phineas is in danger, and she and Alem end up stopping an assassin from killing Phineas and Ferb. Candace also senses he is in danger a couple more times, but is not the one to save him.

Isabella Garcia-ShapiroEdit

Phineas: I love you. Isabella: I-I love you too. --The Bitterness of Phineas Flynn

Phineas and Isabella love each other very much, but are not dating because they are not old enough yet.

In The Bitterness of Phineas FlynnEdit

It is revealed that Phineas has a crush on her. He tries to get her to join the Dark Side, but she wisely refuses. After he leaves, Isabella begins to cry over his change of attitude.

Later, when Phineas announces his return to the good side, Isabella is glad and quite relieved. Soon after that, Phineas tells Isabella that he loves her, and she says she loves him too.

In The Bitterness of Candace FlynnEdit

They briefly hold hands.
